Green with envy

A bunch of my friends have been toiling away this summer creating a garden at Evan's apartment. There are sections for potatoes, garlic, greens, and herbs, among other things. Needless to say, I'm ridiculously jealous. I'll be back in town by the end of summer to sample the fruits of their collective labor, but for now this photo will have to suffice.

Pretty! When my parents first got divorced my dad moved into an apartment with a great garden in the backyard. We sort of took it over, and I started thinking of it as our "secret garden" like from the book. We grew everything from peas to pumpkins. I recently visited the old apartment, and the garden is still there, but it's definitely not as wonderful as it used to be...I'm so glad you wrote this post, it made me remember my favorite garden :)

I would LOVE to have my own little veggie garden, but alas - apartment life in my area doesn't allow that. Sadness.
