A random assortment of mood-lifting photos

I am too tired to come up with a cohesive reason as to why I chose these photos other than the fact that they make me supremely happy. Again, I use hyperbole because I am exhausted. Hopefully this weekend I can catch up on sleep.

Mount Rainier

One of the best things about flying into Seattle is the view from the plane. If you come in from the north, the plane seems to swoop right by Mount Rainier. Even the locals have their faces pressed against the windows, admiring the mountain.
My fall break is this weekend and I'm visiting my parents in Seattle. I can't wait.

Comfort Food

I'm still in a little bit of a funk. Hopefully this weekend I can make this lasagna tart and catch a movie or two with friends.

Scenery

This past weekend I finally made it out to a university football game! My school is pretty big on the sport-and this is my third year here-so it was high time to catch a game. The stadium has a gorgeous view of the surrounding mountains; I really love living here.

Weekend

By the time I get around to the other side of this weekend, I will be moving into my apartment straight across the country! Needless to say, I'll be busy. Hopefully I'll get the chance to pick some flowers as an apartment-warming gift to myself! Anyway, I hope all of you have a fabulous weekend as well!

happy summer

Here's hoping your upcoming holiday weekend is filled with lots of sugar, sunshine, and fireworks. Evan is in town for a few days and we're hoping to visit Half Moon Bay, Berkeley, and San Francisco! What are you up to?

Beach boardwalk

I went to Santa Cruz this weekend and the weather was perfect! I'm far too sensitive to swim in the chilly Pacific waters but I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery.

Desperately Seeking Vitamin D

I suppose I've got a touch of cabin fever lately. This is odd because I'm spending the summer in a glorious locale with millions of things to do. Truth be told, I do far fewer exciting things when I don't have anyone to accompany me.

I really just want to braid my hair, go on a picnic, and sit outside in the sunshine. Hopefully these goals are within reach over the weekend, as I am also planning to attend a citywide yard sale. I guess things aren't all that bad.. ;)

My Whereabouts

In the past week, I have celebrated an anniversary:
Visited Monterey, California:
Driven through San Francisco, California:
And bought a bike:
(whose basket I am considering replacing, any thoughts on wicker?)

Along with working lots of hours. I've been very, very busy. This weekend I hope to ride the train up to San Francisco, do laundry, and make guacamole. Lofty ambitions, I know. Any suggestions of what to do while in San Francisco (preferably near the Caltrain stop)?

All photos taken by me.

That time of the week again

This week, I: got my first Real Job, became excited about upcoming projects, and ate lots of pizza.

This weekend I hope to: attend a party or two, write a paper, tidy my room, and find a wrap dress for the Job. Maybe I'll even go to a Contra Dance -- I've never been!

Easter Recap

My weekend started out in Asheville, where I painted eggs for Easter and bought herbs at a greenhouse. I'm especially excited to make omelets and salsa with the cilantro I purchased.

I cannot believe how absolutely GREEN everything is in Raleigh. After college I would love to live somewhere with a milder climate. It seriously feels like summer down here-- aren't the cherry blossoms wonderful?

It feels really good to not have to go back to school tomorrow. I could get used to this-- too bad I can never engineer my school schedule to have Fridays off!

T.G.I.F.

What a week! I'm grateful to have next Monday and Tuesday off to recuperate. I'll be going out of town for the weekend to visit some friends, which should be really nice. This week on the internet, I came across:

Holi dye. I'd like to use this someday.
A pet hedgehog! I'm now looking into getting one of my own.
The most wonderful silver rain boots.
Some great advice for not-so-great days.

Photo found here.

An extra $20

Our school's psychology department is doing a study on relationships so yesterday afternoon Evan and I both volunteered to take a lengthy survey. It was a little strange but we each earned $10. To celebrate we walked down the street to a Thai restaurant and spent the entire $20 on lunch.
It was delicious but I feel a little wasteful now. I wonder how else I could have spent it! What would you have done with the extra cash?

Party Time

Hooray! It's Friday! This week has been pretty exhausting; I'm really glad that I'm that much closer to the summer.

Any big plans for this weekend? I intend to eat chocolate chip muffins, clean my room, study a little, and enjoy the mild weather.

Welcome to Spring!

The high today was 47 degrees Fahrenheit and people here were walking around in shorts and flip flops. I think everyone around me is glad that it's about to be springtime. Also, it's Friday!

Any big plans for this weekend? I am going to a fun dance party this evening and my boyfriend's parents are coming up tomorrow. We're going to look at pictures from his recent trip to Honduras (yes, I'm very jealous.)

I hope everyone has a good one!
